Downtown Sacramento encompasses Old Sacramento and the Downtown Plaza, making for a total of 66 blocks. It has its own website,
http://downtownsac.org.
Less formally, downtown is often considered to encompass the section of the city between C Street and Broadway (North to South), and the Sacramento River to 16th Street (West to East), though it can sometimes be used even more loosely to include everything from the river to 29th Street. This broadest usage includes many more specific neighborhoods within the boundaries of downtown, including Alkalai Flat, Southside Park, Midtown, and Boulevard Park. More often, Downtown and Midtown are treated as distinct, with 16th street forming the boundary between the two.
