2008-05-16 16:33:51 I broadened the usage quite a lot here, but in my experience living in both Alkalai Flat and Southside Park, people in these neighborhoods refer to where they live as "downtown" unless they want to be more specific. While the businesses in midtown have been trying for a few years to form a distinct midtown identity, people also often talk about the whole grid as being "downtown sacramento" much of the time.
There's a lot of overlap, which makes it particularly hard to define a boundary. It's almost always used much broader than the downtownsac site goes with, though.
